Una Corda (noun)

A device in a grand piano that shifts the mechanism slightly to one side when the soft pedal is depressed, so that the hammers do not strike all of the strings when sounding each note and the tone is therefore quieter.

At Una Corda Partners, we seek to optimize risk-adjusted returns across the maritime industry by lessening volatility or “noise”.  In doing so, this enables us to maximize each investments operating runway and enhance returns from the highly cyclical nature of the industry. We seek to build further upside optionality by utilizing moderate leverage and by partnering with leading operators within each respective segment to maximize operating efficiencies while minimizing entry and exit costs with each investment.

Erol brings over 20 years of private equity and investment experience, and 15 years of specialized focus in the shipping industry:

• Led Garrison Investment Group's shipping investments and disposition of legacy private equity positions totaling over $500 million of capital. 
• CFO of Stainless Tankers ASA ("STST"), overseeing it's initial $65 million private placement and subsequent uplisting onto the Euronext Oslo exchange (voted 2023 Marine Money deal of the year).
• Board Member and Chief Restructuring Officer at Pioneer Marine Inc. ("PNRM"), oversaw the successful closure of the Singapore office, and implementation of a 30% SG&A annualized cost reduction plan.

Stuart brings over 35 years of technical, operational, and commercial management experience spanning all core segments of the shipping industry:

• Teekay ("TK"): Headed development of the one spirit eco design aframax tanker and managed the seamless integration of OMI and Conoco Shipping into the main fleet.
• Seaspan: Fleet director overseeing daily operations for +75 containership vessels.
• Pioneer Marine (N-OTC: "PNRM"): Head of Technical and Operations, where he oversaw 3rd-party technical managers and a newbuild program of 10 vessels.   

  Brian brings 30 years of experience and 20 years of executive management experience across the private equity and hedge fund industry:

• (Active) Co-founder of UsoniaPartners, investing in medium sized manufactured housing parks.
• Partner and COO of Garrison Investment Group.
• VP at Fortress at the inception of Special Situations business in 2002.
• CFO of Blackstone credit business from 2005 - 2007.
